The Farmhouse Project home collection is where we share the things that bring us joy and help us live thoughtfully and simply every day. Each item is carefully handcrafted by us or a local artisan in Upstate NY, made from locally sourced materials, and infused with our love for sustainable living.

From naturally dyeing table linens with black walnuts from our property and plant-based candles, to screen printing bags, napkins, and towels in our studio-slash-barn, we’ve taken a mindful approach to the design and production process to be as gentle as possible on the earth.

Shawn Michael Lang

Co-founder of The Farmhouse Project, Shawn’s career spans several decades working in the fashion and home industry as a product designer and Creative Director for luxury brands like Armani, Jimmy Choo, Tory Burch, Ralph Lauren, and Ethan Allen. With a degree in Industrial design and fine art with a focus on printmaking, Shawn launched a home collection within their brand The Farmhouse Project that’s inspired by his and his husband Kris’s love for entertaining and simple living. Shawn hand screen prints on their seasonal table linen collection with vintage-inspired illustrations and prints. Among other products, Shawn also designs Victorian-era glass dioramas, these labor-intensive still lifes are carefully created by hand in Shawn’s studio in upstate, NY. His product assortment has also expanded into other categories where Shawn designs and collaborates with local makers. Both Shawn and Kris have a passion for locally made products and supporting their community.
